Thank you Saver0 for creating a Trading Journal Section!
Continuing my old thread Buried Treasure from FF.
Old thread has been archived here: http://penguintraders.com/forums/topic/archive-treasure-chest/
All of the PDF’s related to the old thread and these methods can be found here: http://penguintraders.com/forums/topic/pdf-treasure-chest/
I am open to all discussions related to TZ or any of the concepts brought up in the similarity thread. That being said this will now probably act more like a trade journal meaning I will mostly be posting about my previous trades and share my progress. This is a small live account i created when i first started testing these systems, as you can see the first week or two I was chopping around a bunch while I was trying to figure our exactly how to properly trade these. Since then my ship has set sail. Once I double or triple this account I will open a new Live account with a full deposit.
Hopefully we can stay afloat!

[ LearnAlways ]December 10, 2014 at 2:47 am #982Hi PiratePips,
First of all, pls let me have the honor of congratulating you for your success in integrating the ideas of TZ and growing your account. I am a lurker in FF but decided to join penguin traders after I saw a lot of previous contributors to this great idea was suddenly all gone. I was very glad I found here thanks to everybody for not letting TZ concept gone away.
I’m still trying to figure out how to trade TZ. I’m sorry but pls allow me to quote MAM trader in FF his own thread, MAM trader mention TZ is just like a “n-bar fractal”. Pls refer to attached pic. Is TZ behaving like a fractal. 1)Fractal is a high or low signifies a reversal but 2) fractal repaints or updates when a new high or low is made..
In another words, PTZ – trade away as in like reversal like ping pong. Mid PTZ in a trend is when the fractal repaints when a new high or low is make. Normally how would u trade it if u don’t mind me asking. Pls enlighten me as until now I still haven’t really figure out. Thanks a lot for your contribution really appreciate it, thx.
Thanks & Best Regards,

Yes any top or bottom TZ is really just a fractal zone. True TZ’s are only the Mid TZ. This is why Kprsa’s indi has stats for fractal bar resolve & transient bar resolve. & there are many ways to trade these things along with SS levels as kaids mentioned in his thread, all these zones are really just areas of supply and demand or support and resistances. So they don’t tell you when to enter a trade or anything like that they just tell you where price is likely going so you can use many things like PA, or the Bull Bear indis in Kiads thread, or Kiads BB method that is mentioned in the archived Buried treasure linked on first post. I hope this helps!

Looks great PiratePip!
Can’t wait to see you reach 1000%!!
Since you are using SL, I’m confident that you will reach this goal. I need to figure out the SL part for my trading. Currently I’m strictly on MM and using very small lot sizes. Hopefully things will slow down a bit for me so I can think more and come up with a good plan
Its very cool that you got the link to myfxbook and the badge on your signature

I sure hope i can make it that far!
Coming up with a sure plan is what really made me break though, before I was all over the place but once I created a plan, the results changed.I too am still working on proper MM and proper RRR to trades etc, its crazy how many moving parts there are for trading…
and thank you for making your website capable of letting put the link in my sig :)
Hi PiratePips,

Hey blueface! glad to see you made it over here.
Caught a small loss on AUDCHF last night, thankfully the EURCAD long I had from last week played out nicely

keep it up!!
quick question, i just looked at couple trades and looks like myfxbook is calculating pips wrong on these two. the price moved 135.8 pips but it shows 1358 pips (for #1). for most others it is showing correctly but these two seems wrong.

I noticed they did that as well for those my USDJPY trades. I am not sure why they did this but I think it is an error with my broker. The decimal just needs to be moved over the left 1 space and that is really how many pips I made & was credited for on the position. That would have been nice though if i really did snag two 1000 pip trades on UJ lol

It also did the same thing to my NZDJPY that trade. Again though if you move decimal to the left 1 space it will tell you proper amount of pips gained.

Thanks. yes seems weird for pips but hopefully pnl calculations are good. yes would have been nice to bag couple 1000 pips trades (i guess you can have those if you leave some for real long term positions).
Good trading!!
Like an amateur I entered a USDCAD short early(before set up was ready) only to have it turn against me. Thankfully my AUDNZD shorts from the other day hit their tps making the losses back and then some :)
I need to work out all these classic mistakes like over trading, too much risk etc.

You must be logged in to view attached files.Crazy RBNZ speech/price action caused me to catch a nice size loss on NZDCAD taking back most of my gains for the week. Still green but just barely. All good though. Still have a couple trades waiting to play out that should bring us back into better waters.

My USDCAD trade is going to the hell and taking my account along with it haha! I didn’t use SL so I’m like stuck. I just started trading with SL today. Let’s see how it goes

So are you trading towards a past TZ?
Focus, Patience, Determination & Order in chaos
I want price to go toward the bottom tz or low zone. I’ve waited 3 days for a shorting opportunity because of how hard it ranged between top tz and bot tz. when the stop hunt came every conventional indicator said to buy but it was too close to the top tz without having to take care of some business south.
the mid zone is a pretty nice target also even though the H is to big to show it you can see black in front and behind the super huge bar between conf bot and conf top. i will be waiting to see if it can break mid :)
in hindsight i could have done a multi position and closed half out at mid

Hello again Lowphat,
What you are doing is a bit unconventional. You are following that example FX-Jay gave (one where he said TZs would fail). He didn’t really explain it well. That example was a mid TZ from the past but in the current time there was a pTZ (pending zone) as well at the same location. In your trade, there is no pending middle zone or any pending bottom zones. We have completed zone at the bottom and no mid zone.
Trading in this way is fine as long as you know what you are doing but the probability calculations doesn’t reflect this trade. It’s out of scope. You would need stats for price coming back to a previously completed and confirmed TZ again in order to make this a statistically accurate trade.
Like I said, if you are trading this like fractals, then that’s no problem as long as you know what you are doing
I just don’t want people to be misunderstood what the “proper” way of trading the TZs is. In that FF forum, many misunderstood it and it was very messy. Some of them who understood it I think may have intentionally mislead people.Focus, Patience, Determination & Order in chaos
actually there is a pending bottom zone if you consider h var or if u use a larger h. also there is a few of us who traded this way well before J even joined FF. hebsibah being one i remember that was vocal about it. to us this was a proper high probablility pattern. if your saying this is not a proper pattern based on “A delicate secret” as applied to the tz concept i would have to agree. on a side note I do tend to mix other methods that are related to tz for confirmation and i have spoke about them on my thread @ http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3880. if i need to add a disclaimer to all my calls i can or you can remove my posts i don’t mind. its just on ff the Buried Treasure thread seemed a safe place to post even if it wasn’t one strict particular school of thought.

I got that feeling too sometimes! One person was even driven away because he offered alternative approach, something along the lines “you can have your opinion, but you can’t express it more than once”…
i didn’t account for the probability of spread widening lol
